Investor · Operator · Builder
Builder. Operator. Executor.
/ / OVERVIEW
Dan Picmann is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Keel Merchant Bank, a next-generation merchant bank purpose-built for the middle market.
With more than 20 years of experience spanning private equity, credit, and business transformation, Dan works directly inside businesses, not at arm's length from them. His career has been defined by a conviction that capital and operations are inseparable: that the decisions which determine outcomes require someone who understands both.
That conviction is the foundation of Keel Merchant Bank. Across four integrated subsidiaries, Keel Advisory (KA), Keel Partners (KP), Keel Capital (KC), and Keel OS, the firm brings performance improvement, capital markets execution, direct principal investment, and an agentic technology platform to bear under one roof. Dan built Keel to give middle-market operators access to the same quality of execution that larger enterprises take for granted.
/ / AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Working directly inside businesses to identify operational and financial inflection points, build practical value-creation plans, and drive measurable results across revenue, margin, and cash flow. Delivered through Keel Advisory (KA).
Deep expertise across credit underwriting, complex capital structures, and debt and equity placement across a company's full lifecycle. Delivered through Keel Partners (KP).
End-to-end transaction execution from buy-side origination and structuring to exit positioning and close. Keel Merchant Bank evaluates every situation from the inside, which means it underwrites from a position of actual operating knowledge and executes business plans it helped design.
Keel OS is the firm's agentic AI-powered operating system, providing real-time performance intelligence, capital markets analytics, and autonomous execution support across every Keel portfolio company and client. It is a standalone business unit, not a supporting tool.

/ / PHILOSOPHY
For Dan, the work happens inside the business, not in a conference room removed from it. He has spent his career on production floors before sunrise, in sales ride-alongs, and alongside management teams working through hard problems in real time.
That closeness is the basis of Keel Merchant Bank's Advisory First™ model. Keel evaluates every situation from the inside, which means it underwrites from a position of actual operating knowledge and executes business plans it helped design. The result is a deal flow and conviction level that arms-length advisors cannot replicate.

Middle-market companies deserve institutional-grade execution. If your business is approaching a critical moment, whether that means improving performance, accessing capital, or preparing for a transaction, Dan and the Keel Merchant Bank team are built for exactly that.
